There are many great games on the Sega genesis Library, but there is no doubt that one of the most memorable games is the one that cwas bundled with the console in 1989. The game was Altered Beast and it was the title that gave the genesis the initial reputation of being a console for older gamers.
The game features religious imagery mixed with werewolves, zombies, Greek mythology and a soundtrack that seems to come straight from hell. It was first released on arcade machines and then ported to many other home consoles and computers including the Amiga, the Atari ST, The Turbo Grafx 16 and the Spectrum, but most fans of the game will agree that the Genesis version was the best port.
Hearing the main enemy yell “Welcome to your doom” was never as satisfying on any of the other versions as it was on the Genesis. Even the arcade version felt tamed and weak compared to the genesis voice that sounded like it was recorded by a true demon from your worst nightmares.
This is a video that showcases the best method to kill each boss in the game on the default difficulty. Just one of the many great games that we plan on showcasing in this special section called “How to beat”.
